Aldo Melpignano is the Managing Director of San Domenico Hotels group, a collection of all his family properties, embodying a different concept in hospitality based on local and authentic experiences. Together with his family he is the founder of Borgo Egnazia, an international excellence deeply invested in Puglia.
At 19 he helped his mother transform Masseria San Domenico, a rustic farmhouse, into the first “Leading Hotel of the World” in Puglia. After his studies between London and the US, he worked for Morgans Hotel Group in New York starting from 2005.
Aldo returned to Europe in 2007 to spearhead the development, construction and launch of Borgo Egnazia, which opened in May 2010. Throughout his career, Aldo has balanced finesse for finance and vision with a deeply rooted passion for his homeland and its native elements.
Aldo divides his time between Puglia and London with his wife and two daughters. He is a member of the Young President’s Organization and the youngest board member of Fondazione Altagamma, Italy’s network of top high-end brands.
